Additional markers/info on map

It would enhance gameplay if markers and more information were available on the map for the minor sites. Supply caches and rad flags should be visible on the map after they are found. It would also be useful you could access the supply status of locations on the map once they are discovered. After all, once you access the container, you know what is there. Why make the player take notes?

At a minimum, allow the player to place permanent markers on the map with notes.

Personally, I prefer the idea of making the player keep track of some things on their own rather than doing all of that for them. I tried to strike a compromise where the larger supply sites are automatically added, but the smaller sites are not tracked automatically. Taking photos of discovered locations to record their position will be a part of the main story mode in the future so I wanted to incorporate that in the sandbox mode for testing and feedback.

I could possibly allow the player to have the photos in their favorites folder automatically have their position permanently displayed on the map, or have an option from the photo app to set the location as permanently visible. Perhaps that would be an improvement that still allows for player choice?

That would be great! Players could also mark exploration that way. Just snap a pic when they change directions and they can plot the extents of their travel.

I also think that being able to save text notes in the Datapad, which can either be attached to discovered permanent locations or photos, or can be "unattached" generic notes/reminders for yourself, would be useful and also be in line with the "keep track of some things on your own" approach. In games like this, where you have a large area to cover with various things to remember, you either have a good memory, or make out of game notes. But the player character here has a portable computer which lends itself to record such information within the context and world of the game itself.

I would like a little more automation in mapped sites.   I'd like the Remote Outposts to have a different marker than the minor sites, possible a purple square?

I like the idea of taking pictures and in-game text notes that are associated with a specific site. For the main nav map, possible just a small icon next to the marker that, when clicked, opens the photo or notes?
