This is a performance limitation. Shadows cast from spotlights cause more of a hit on performance. So for now I'm marking this as not a bug since it's intentional, but if I'm able to find a balance with the performance of the shadow casts then I may enable them in the future.

It currently does charge relative to the amount of sunlight. So when it starts charging it is charging much slower than it does when the sun is higher in the sky. But I can look into making it even more representative of a realistic charge rate.

I agree that small details like this can add to the experience. I'll see what I can do.

Good point. I believe I originally had it planned the way you described but I think it got mixed up in the communication with the artist. I'll try to fix this eventually, but it will be lower on the priority list. Thanks for pointing it out though.

These downed satellites will make more sense in context of a later update which will allow you to call down resupply drops from orbiting satellites. These are just crashed versions of those supply drops.
