I feel like a permanently present distance indicator might be a bit distracting, but I could experiment with a keyboard shortcut to ping a new objective marker at the point you are looking which would then display the distance above on the compass.

Personally, I prefer the idea of making the player keep track of some things on their own rather than doing all of that for them. I tried to strike a compromise where the larger supply sites are automatically added, but the smaller sites are not tracked automatically. Taking photos of discovered locations to record their position will be a part of the main story mode in the future so I wanted to incorporate that in the sandbox mode for testing and feedback.

I could possibly allow the player to have the photos in their favorites folder automatically have their position permanently displayed on the map, or have an option from the photo app to set the location as permanently visible. Perhaps that would be an improvement that still allows for player choice?

This is a known issue with the Unity terrain system that I am trying to find solutions for. I know that it is distracting and hopefully I can find a way to reduce or fix the effect.

Thanks. I'll take a look at that.

Well that's certainly not good. Were you able to reload your save game and did the issue return? Or did this only happen the one time?

I think there used to be a bug that prevented you from filling a canister with oxygen if you didn't have any other crafting plans unlocked, but I believe that has been fixed now. So as long as your Reoxygenator is functioning or running on reserve power you should be able to fill a canister at the crafting station.

Haha, that is my all-time favorite film by the way. And excellent point on the difference between zero-g space walks and planetary EVAs. I think there is definitely room for a specific food item that can uniquely be consumed while on an EVA. I'll see what I can do.
