Sorry, but I'm having a hard time understanding exactly what happened here. Are you able to recreate the problem? The E key is used to close the datapad that comes up when you are trying to do maintenance. If it happens again, I still want to know about it, but perhaps you can try to press the E key to see if it would allow you to move again.
The habitat exterior modules must be online and producing oxygen/heat/etc in order to enter the habitat without your suit. You will automatically take off your suit if the modules are online. Check for the power switches and missing components that might need to be replaced.
The pickaxe (or shovel) is currently only necessary if you find a buried cache.

I've wondered about how I might want to implement something like this. I'll give it another look and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the suggestion.
Load balancing makes sense for some components, but I'm not sure it should be the case for fuses. I think I can make a compromise though and only degrade the integrity of a single fuse that is installed since it only requires one. That way you can have more installed as backups that would only start degrading if the first fuse slot fails. As it is right now I believe all installed fuse slots will degrade even if only one is required by the module.
I think I'm going to move all suit recharging/refilling to the Habitat Status screen as manual options. I'll try to have it in by launch. I can probably have it recharge/refill your suit if you are inside and the reserves are at 100% as well. Good idea.
Yeah, I added this recently and I feel like it may be too punishing as well. I'll remove it in the next patch.

I'm marking this as "Declined" simply because I don't have plans to change the difficulty much before launch, but I'll definitely still be taking specific suggestions about ways the game could be improved. I'm still considering the option to drink while on EVA.
